BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Washington and Lee men's cross country team finished ninth out of 42 teams in the white race at the Paul Short Run on Saturday. Muhlenberg claimed the top spot with 131 points, Juniata was second (141) and Franklin & Marshall took third (188). The Generals ended with 310 points.
First-year Mac Strehler (Moseley, Va./Trinity Episcopal School) placed fifth overall with a time of 26:32. Sophomore Levi Warring (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette) was two minutes behind him in 56th (28:11) and senior Kane Thomas (Seattle, Wash./Shorewood) came in 65th at 28:15.
First-year Phillip Harmon (Roanoke, Va./Patrick Henry) crossed the finish line 78th with a time of 28:29, and sophomore Jacob Strauss (Great Falls, Mont./Great Falls) rounded out the scoring in 106th at 28:59.
Senior Brett Kubiak of Gwynedd Mercy took home the individual title with a time of 25:35. His teammate, Joe Kubiak, placed second at 26:18.
The Generals next compete at the Christopher Newport Invitational on Saturday, October 19.
