W&L Men's Cross Country Earns Top-10 Finish at Lehigh

BETHELEM, Pa. – The Washington and Lee men's cross country team finished in 10th place out of 42 teams in the Collegiate White Race as part of the Lehigh Paul Short Invitational on Friday afternoon.

The Generals were led by seniors Matt Gossett (Atlanta, Ga./Wesleyan), Ryan Henner (Avondale Estates, Ga./Chamblee) and Robert Warneford-Thomson

Gossett was the Generals' top finisher, completing the 8k course in 27:34 to finish in 38th place. Henner was just six seconds behind Gossett, finishing in 27:40 for a 43rd-place showing. Warneford-Thomson finished in 81st with a time of 28:14

Sophomore Kane Thomas (Seattle, Wash./Shorewood) finished in 83rd with a time of 28:15 and junior Tyler Gehrs (Alexandria, Va./St. Andrews) was the final W&L scoring runner, placing 97th with a time of 28:43. 

W&L returns to action on October 15, when the Generals will take part in the Oberlin Inter-Region Rumble beginning at 11:00 am.
