SALEM, Va. — Senior MacKenzye Leroy (Port Jervis, N.Y./Port Jervis) and sophomore Jay Roberts (Whitwell, Tenn./McCallie) each had a Top 3 finish to lead the Washington and Lee men's track and field team on day two of the Finn Pincus Invitational on Saturday hosted by Roanoke.
Highlights From the Meet
- Leroy took second overall and was the top collegiate runner in the 800m with an indoor personal-best time of 1:59.72. Bershawn Jackson, a former bronze medalist in the 400m hurdles at the 2008 Olympics, took the top spot in 1:56.09.
- Roberts finished third in the shot put with a toss of 14.03m (46'0.50").
- Junior Drew Pranka (Princeton, Ill./Princeton) placed sixth in the 60m hurdles (8.88), first-year Ellis Robinson (Wytheville, Va./George Wythe) was sixth in the long jump at 6.33m (20'9.25") and sophomore Donovan Fiore (Gilbert, Ariz./Chandler Prep Academy) claimed sixth in the 400m with a time of 51.01.
