McDonald & Robertson Win Events at Doc Jopson Invitational

BRIDGEWATER, Va. — The Washington and Lee men's track and field team sent three athletes to the Doc Jopson Invitational at Bridgewater on Friday.

In the 800m, junior Ian McDonald (Richmond, Va./Douglas S. Freeman) won the event with a time of 1:57.04. First-year Cooper Baird (Fort Worth, Texas/Fort Worth Country Day) took third in 1:59.27.

Junior Patrick Robertson (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Academy) won the shot put with a personal-best throw of 15.02m (49'3.50"). In the hammer throw, Robertson finished second with a toss of 46.51m (152'7.00").

The team will send a larger group of athletes to the Liberty Twilight on Wednesday, May 4.
