BALTIMORE, Md. — The Washington and Lee men's track and field team competed against Division I and III teams at the Hopkins Loyola Invitational on Saturday.
Junior Patrick Robertson (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Academy) led the team with a win in the hammer throw. He recorded a career-best toss of 47.82m (156'11.00"). Junior Dan Claroni (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) placed eighth at 33.94m (111'4.50"). Robertson also took fifth in the shot put at 14.39m (47'2.50").
In the 400m, junior Jack Jones (Lookout Mountain, Ga./McCallie School) claimed third with a time of 49.85. First-year Drew Pranka (Princeton, Ill./Princeton) was fifth in the 400m hurdles (56.73) and ninth in the 110m hurdles (16.45).
Junior Harrison DeKnight (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) was sixth in the high jump at 1.88m (6'2.00") and eighth in the triple jump with a leap of 12.50m (41'0.25"). The 4x400m relay finished eighth with a time of 3:30.04.
The Generals next compete at the ODAC Championship hosted by Lynchburg on Friday and Saturday.
