Robertson Leads W&L Men's T&F at UCS Invite

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Led by junior Patrick Robertson (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Academy), the Washington and Lee men's track and field team competed at the UCS Invitational at the JDL Fast Track on Saturday.

Robertson recorded a new career-best in the weight throw at 14.89m (48'10.25"). He was sixth overall and was the top Division III competitor. He also claimed 12th (second in D-III) in the shot put at 13.12m (43'00.50").

In the 400m, junior Jack Jones (Lookout Mountain, Ga./McCallie School) placed ninth (first in D-III) with a new indoor career-best time of 50.92. Sophomore MacKenzye Leroy (Port Jervis, N.Y./Port Jervis) notched a new personal best in taking 15th (second in D-III) in the mile at 4:20.20.

Senior Levi Warring (Williamsburg, Va./Lafayette) was the top Division III runner (19th overall) in the 3,000m in 9:01.86. Junior Rob Jones (Albany, N.Y./Albany Academy) took 11th (first in D-III) in the pole vault at 3.95m (12'11.50"). Junior Jake Roberts (Kansas City, Mo./The Barstow School) registered a personal best in the 800m with a time of 1:59.99.

The Generals next compete at the ODAC Championship on Sunday, February 28, at the Prince George Complex in Landover, Md.
