W&L Claims the 2013 ODAC Overall Sports Champion Cup
For the 11th-consecutive year, Washington and Lee University has claimed the Dan Wooldridge Overall Sports Champion Cup, as announced by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference on Friday. The Generals claimed both the Women’s Commissioner’s Cup and the Men’s Commissioner’s Cup on their way to the overall title.

Mills & Sullivan Compete at Roanoke Twilight Meet
The Washington and Lee men’s track and field team sent two competitors to the Roanoke-Virginia Teach Twilight Meet on Thursday. Senior Dylan Mills (Mobile, Ala./St. Paul’s) and junior Kevin Sullivan (Sandwich, Mass./Tabor) each participated in the javelin.

Myers Wins Decathlon at Lynchburg Multi-Event
Looking to record a total which would qualify him for the NCAA Championships, junior Dillon Myers (Foxborough, Mass./Foxborough) finished first in the decathlon at the Lynchburg Multi-Event on Monday and Tuesday. Myers recorded 6,093 points in his first time competing in the decathlon this year. The total is the 24th-best mark in Division III this season.

Jeong Ties W&L Men's T&F 100m School Record
Sophomore Aaron Jeong (Federal Way, Wash./Thomas Jefferson) tied the Washington and Lee men’s track and field 100m school record on Saturday at the Bob Pollock Invitational hosted by Clemson. The meet consisted of Division I, II and III athletes with select Generals looking to improve their times/marks in order to qualify for the NCAA Championships.

Numerous W&L Students Earn Winter Term Scholar-Athlete Awards
Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that 179 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed winter term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.500.

W&L Men's T&F Claims Third at ODAC Championship
The Washington and Lee men’s track and field team had two individual ODAC Champions on Saturday and won both relays. The Generals finished third overall (138.5 points) at the 2013 ODAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Wilson Field. Lynchburg took home the team title with 175.5 points and Bridgewater claimed second at 147.66 points.

Myers Leads W&L Men's T&F on Day One of ODAC's
Junior Dillon Myers (Foxborough, Mass./Foxborough) led the Washington and Lee men’s track and field team on the first day of the 2013 ODAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Wilson Field. The Blue and White (26 points) are in fourth out of the eight teams. Lynchburg holds the top spot with 58 points, Bridgewater is second (44.66 points) and Guilford third (28 points).

The Washington and Lee men’s track and field team competed at two meets on Saturday. The throwers attended the UNC Joe Hilton Invitational, while the rest of the team was at the Johnson C. Smith Invitational.

Led by junior Dillon Myers (Foxborough, Mass./Foxborough) the Washington and Lee men’s track and field team had 17 Top 3 finishes at the Commonwealth Duals hosted by Christopher Newport on Saturday. Myers recorded three individual Top 3 finishes and was part of the 4x400m relay, which claimed first.

On Friday, the Washington and Lee men’s track and field team took a handful of athletes to compete at the Lafayette-Rider Winter Games at the Armory in New York. The meet consisted of Division I, II and III athletes, and the Generals had competitors place and set personal bests.

The Washington and Lee men’s track and field team took second out of five teams at the Denison Lid-Lifter on Saturday. The Generals finished with 96 points, while Carnegie Mellon took the top spot with 177 points. Bethany (W.V.) came in third at 84 points.

Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that Head Men’s Cross Country and Assistant Men’s Track & Field Coach John Tucker has decided to retire from coaching effective immediately, and will begin phased retirement in the fall of 2013.
