Myers and Tallman Complete Day One at NCAA T&F Championships
CLAREMONT, Calif. – Two members of the Washington and Lee men's track & field team opened competition at the NCAA Division III Championships on Thursday at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in Claremont, Calif.
Sophomore Dillon Myers (Foxborough, Mass./Foxborough) began with the first five events of the decathlon, finishing eighth in the 100 meters (11.37), 10th in the long jump (6.48 meters), 19th in the shot put (9.49 meters), 12th in the high jump (5-11.25") and third in the 400 meters (50.27). Halfway through the competition, he ranks 13th with 3,366 points.
Sophomore Zander Tallman (Grand Blanc, Mich./Cranbrook-Kingswood) competed in the prelims of the 200 meters and finished 20th with a time of 22.26. His time did not qualify him for the finals on Friday.
Myers will complete his decathlon events on Friday, taking part in the 100 meter hurdles, 1,500 meters, the discus, the pole vault and the javelin. Competition begins with the hurdles at 2:00 pacific time.
Tallman continues his action with the prelims of the 400 meters on Friday at 6:20 pm pacific time. The finals are Saturday at 2:40 pm.
