LEXINGTON, Va. -- The 22nd-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team opened its spring season with a 9-0 win over regionally-ranked Methodist on Saturday afternoon at the Duchossois Tennis Center.
The Generals dropped just two singles sets on the way to the shutout win over the Monarchs, who are ranked 11th in the ITA Atlantic South Region.
With the win, W&L improved to 1-0 overall, while Methodist fell to 2-1 with the loss.
Washington and Lee returns to action on February 14 when it takes on Virginia Wesleyan at a time and location to be determined.
