KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Washington and Lee sophomore Taylor Shamshiri (Austin, Texas/ATA College Prep) and first-year Michael Holt (Henrico, Va. / Mills Godwin) fell in the semifinals of the NCAA Division III Doubles Championship hosted by Kalamazoo College on Saturday.
Shamshiri and Holt were defeated by the tandem of Robert Kjellberg and Artsiom Prostak of North Carolina Wesleyan by a score of 6-3, 7-6. Kjellberg and Prostak will square off against Elliot Kahler and Ian Wagner of Emory in the championship match later today.
Shamshiri and Holt complete their season with a 26-6 overall record. Their 26 wins are tied for the fifth-most in a season in school history. With their semifinal finish, the duo earns All-America honors.
