W&L Men's Tennis Falls to Top-Ranked Emory, 8-1
LEXINGTON, Va. -- The 20th-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to top-ranked Emory University on Tuesday evening in Atlanta.
The Generals fell behind 3-0 following doubles play, but got one point when senior Hayden White (Baltimore, Md./Towson) posted a 6-3, 6-2 win over Eric Halpern at No. 1 singles. However, the Generals would drop the other five singles matches to fall to 1-2 on the season.
With the win, Emory improved to 3-1 overall.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Thursday when it travels to Chattanooga, Tenn., to take on Sewanee at 3:00 pm.
