W&L Men's Tennis Knocked Off By No. 5 CMS, 8-1

CLAREMONT, Calif. -- The Washington and Lee men's tennis team dropped its third straight match, falling to fifth-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 8-1, on Friday afternoon.

First-year Taylor Shamshiri (Austin, Texas/ATA College Prep) was the lone General to produce a win, upsetting 12th-ranked Alex Johnson by a score of 6-3, 6-4.

With the loss, W&L fell to 2-3 overall, while CMS improved to 2-1.

Washington and Lee returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts Roanoke for a 3:00 pm match.
