W&L Men's Tennis Selected to Host NCAA Rounds 1-3

LEXINGTON, Va. – The National Collegiate Athletic Association announced its field for the NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Tournament on Monday evening and Washington and Lee University has been selected to host the first, second and third rounds of the tournament.

Washington and Lee will serve as a host school for the first three rounds, with Transylvania (12-5) and Wilkes (15-2) meeting in the first round in Lexington on Friday, May 14.  The Generals (15-8) will play The College of New Jersey (10-6) in the second round on Saturday, May 15, while Emory University (14-7) will take on the winner of the Transylvania-Wilkes matchup on Saturday as well. 

The two remaining teams will meet in the third round on Sunday, May 16 for a chance to advance to the NCAA National Championships hosted by Oberlin College on May 25-27.

The Generals received a bid to the NCAA Tournament after winning the Old Dominion Athletic Conference title with a 5-3 victory over Hampden-Sydney on April 25.  TCNJ received one of nine Pool B bids to the tournament.
