W&L Men's Swimming Places Third at Wingate Invitational

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Washington and Lee men's swimming team earned 512 points for a third place finish at the Wingate Invitational on Saruday afternoon in Charlotte, N.C.

Matt Hesser picked up an eighth place spot in the 100 back in a time of 54.81, while Wesley Sigmon placed ninth (58.09) and Alex Kirven placed 10th (58.13).

Jake Nurns picked up a 12th placed finish in the 50 free (22.58) and Alex Fox had the best finish of the day with a fourth place finish in the 1000 free (10:26.17).

The 400 free relay of John Womack, Jake Burns, Cole Schott, and Andrew Botelho teamed up to take ninth place, touching the wall in a time of 3:29.26.

The Blue and White will be back in action on November 8th, hosting Hampden-Sydney for a 6:00 pm meet.
