Four Generals Earn All-America in Men's Swimming

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Four members of the Washington and Lee men's swimming team have earned All-America honors on day one of the NCAA Division III Swimming Championships, held at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI.

Seniors Ian Dexter (Mountain Brook, Ala./Mountain Brook) and Brian Stirling (Skillman, N.J./Montgomery), and juniors Wayde Marsh (Milford, Del./Salesianum School) and Rick Sykes (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) teamed up in the 200 medley relay, placing 10th overall in a new school record time of 1:32.14. All athletes in the top 16 of their respective event are given All-American status.

Sykes also garnered his second All-America accolades of the day on a 20.67 performance in the 50 free to take 13th place.

W&L returns to the pool on Thursday for day two of the NCAA Championships, with preliminary rounds set to begin at 10:00 am.
