KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced its 2013 Continental Tire Division III All-South Atlantic Region team on Tuesday and Washington and Lee junior forward Zach Colby (Prairie Village, Kan. / Shawnee Mission East) was among those honored.
Colby was placed on the 11-member first team, the Generals' first player to garner first team all-region honors since 2007.
A two-time First Team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference honoree, Colby received his first career all-region award after starting 17 contests and finishing second in the ODAC in goals scored (13) and third in total points (27). His six game-winning goals also topped the conference.
After three seasons of play, Colby ranks fourth all-time at W&L for game-winning goals (11) and eighth for goals scored (26).
Washington and Lee completed the 2013 season with a 10-3-5 overall record and a 7-2-2 conference record. The Generals earned the fourth seed for the ODAC Tournament and advanced to the semifinals before falling to top-seeded Randolph, 2-0.
