W&L and LC Play to 0-0 Draw in Men's Soccer

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's soccer team played to a 0-0 double-overtime draw at Lynchburg College Wednesday night at Shellenberger Field.

Despite outshooting the Hornets (5-7-3, 3-2-3 ODAC), 14-8, including 5-2 in shots on goal, W&L (7-4-2-, 4-2-2 ODAC) was unable to get a ball past Lynchburg's Michael Releford, who made five saves for LC. 

Senior Ben Petitto (Gainesville, Fla./St. Francis Catholic) made two saves for the Generals, who played to their second draw in as many games following a 1-1 tie at Bridgewater on Monday.

Neither team registered a shot in the first overtime period, and despite a shot a side in the second extra session, neither keeper was forced to make a save in either overtime period. 

The Generals return to action on Saturday when they travel to Greensboro for a 12:00 pm contest.
