Lawson and Westfal Highlight Major Award Winners at W&L
Washington and Lee University held its annual Athletic Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 15 at Lee Chapel. Headlining the award winners were senior soccer player Kat Lawson (White Post, Va./Clarke County) and senior football player Charlie Westfal (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan), who were selected as the “Pres” Brown Outstanding Senior Female and Male Athletes of the Year as voted on by members of the department.

Third-ranked and top-seeded Lynchburg College outscored Washington and Lee 10-2 over the final three quarters to produce a 10-4 win over the sixth-seeded Generals in the championship game of the ODAC Tournament on Sunday at Shellenberger Field.

W&L Men's Lacrosse Upsets Roanoke in ODAC Semis, 13-8
First-year goalkeeper Warren Berenis (Ocoee, Fla./Lake Highland Prep) stopped a career-best 20 shots and senior attackman Scott Meehan (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Manlius-Pebble Hill) totaled a career-high five goals and two assists as the sixth-seeded Washington and Lee men’s lacrosse team knocked off second-seeded Roanoke, 13-8, in the semifinals of the ODAC Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Kerr Stadium.

Numerous W&L Students Earn Winter Scholar-Athlete Awards
Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that 185 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed winter term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.500.
