W&L's LaSala Named Preseason All-American

BALTIMORE, Md. -- Washington and Lee junior men's lacrosse player Joe LaSala (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) has been named a Preseason Second Team All-American by Inside Lacrosse magazine for the publication's annual Face-Off Yearbook.

LaSala, who was also recently selected to the Omicron Delta Kappa Society and has been named as a team captain for the 2012 season, was a First Team All-ODAC and Honorable Mention USILA All-America selection as a defender following his sophomore campaign.

Despite missing the final six games of the 2011season, he produced a team-best 37 caused turnovers, a total which also tied for the top mark in the ODAC. He started each of the first 11 games of the season, collecting 22 groundballs and helping the Generals' defense allow an average of just 7.06 goals per game.

W&L finished the 2011 season with an overall record of 9-8 and will kickoff the 2012 campaign on February 18, when it hosts Ferrum at 5:00 pm.
