BALTIMORE, Md. – Inside Lacrosse has announced its Faceoff Magazine Preseason Division III Top 20 Poll, along with its listing of Preseason Division III All-Americans.
Washington and Lee ranks 14th in the magazine’s preseason men’s poll, while senior attackman Will Keigler (Timonium, Md./Gilman) was selected to the Preseason Second Team All-America squad.
Defending National Champion Cortland tops the poll, followed by Stevenson, Gettysburg, Salisbury and Roanoke. Middlebury, Western New England, Tufts, Denison and Cabrini rounded out the Top 10. Wesleyan ranked 11th, followed by Haverford, Ithaca, W&L, Geneseo, St. Lawrence, Bowdoin, Lynchburg and Nazareth, while Endicott rounded out the poll at No. 20.
Keigler was tabbed to the preseason All-America squad for the first time in his career. A 2009 First Team All-ODAC pick and an Honorable Mention All-America selection by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Coaches Association (USILA), Keigler led the Generals and ranked fifth on the school’s single-season list with 78 points last spring. He tallied 42 goals and 36 assists in helping the Generals to a 16-4 overall record and the ODAC Championship. W&L advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to eventual National Runner-up Gettysburg, 15-10.
A three-year starter, Keigler will enter his senior season tied for 16th all-time at W&L with 149 career points (73 G, 76 A). His 76 career assists also rank 11th in school history.
