NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Washington and Lee first-year Conley Hurst (Little Rock, Ark. / Episcopal) was recognized on the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) College Division All-State Men's Golf team on Tuesday.
Hurst was recognized on the second team, along with earning VaSID Rookie of the Year honors. Hampden-Sydney senior Rick O'Connell was named the Player of the Year, while H-SC's Mac Main earned Coach of the Year laurels.
A Second Team All-ODAC honoree as well, Hurst led the team and was fifth in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference with a 75.6 stroke average across 20 rounds played. He had four Top 10 finishes throughout the year, including a pair of Top 5 finishes. Among them was a first-place tie at the ODAC Championship with a score of 77-72-73—222 (+6). Hurst fell in a playoff to Guilford's Tanner Gross, earning ODAC All-Tournament accolades.
As a team, Washington and Lee finished second at the ODAC Championship with a score of 312-303-308—923.
