W&L Men's Golf Shares ODAC Lead After Day Two

CONOVER, N.C. — First-year Conley Hurst (Little Rock, Ark./Episcopal) carded an even-par 72 on Monday, to help keep the Washington and Lee men's golf team in a tie for first after two rounds of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship at the Rock Barn Golf Club.

The Generals and Guilford each shot a 312-303-615 over the first two days to share the top spot in the 10-team event. Shenandoah is 28 shots behind the leaders to sit in third at 325-318-643.

Hurst leads the 50-player field with a 77-72-149 by one stroke over two players, Brian Burt (73-77-150) of Hampden-Sydney and Tanner Gross (75-75-150) of Guilford. First-year Cody Solomon (Peachtree Corners, Ga./Wesleyan School) is two shots off the lead in solo fourth at 75-76-151.

Sophomore Taylor Stagg (Midlothian, Va./James River) is the other W&L competitor in the Top 10, residing in 10th with a 79-78-157. Junior Patrick Clossin (Ooltewah, Tenn./McCallie School) is one spot behind him in a tie for 11th at 81-77-158, and first-year Todd Alan McDonald (Little Rock, Ark./Little Rock Christian) rounds out the scoring for the Generals with an 86-81-167 to sit in a tie for 22nd.   

The championship concludes on Tuesday with the third and final round from Rock Barn.
