W&L Men's Golf Ties for Second at the Rhodes Mirimichi Invitational
MILLINGTON, Tenn. – The Washington and Lee men's golf team finished in a tie for second out of 10 teams at the Rhodes College Mirimichi Invitational held at the Mirimichi Golf Club on Sunday and Monday.
The Generals finished with a two-day score of 307-315—622 and tied with the host Lynx for second-place. Rhodes carded 312-310—622 and California Lutheran won the event with a 308-300—608.
CLU's Mikey McGinn finished as the individual champion, posting a +4 score of 74-74—148.
W&L was led by first-year Conley Hurst (Little Rock, Ark. / Episcopal), who tied for sixth out of 60 golfers with a score of 75-78—153.
First-year Cody Solomon (Peachtree Corners, Ga. / Wesleyan School) tied for 14th after posting 78-78—156 and junior Patrick Clossin (Ooltewah, Tenn. / McCallie School) notched a 76-81—157 to tie for 19th overall.
First-year Todd Alan McDonald (Little Rock, Ark. / Little Rock Christian) and sophomore Taylor Stagg (Midlothian, Va. / James River) both completed the course in a tie for 33rd-place. McDonald carded an 84-78—162 and Stagg shot 78-84—162.
Washington and Lee will return to action on April 27-29 when it participates in the ODAC Championship held at the Rock Barn Golf Club in Conover, N.C.
