W&L Men's Golf Finishes Tied for Fifth at the Callaway Gardens Intercollegiate

PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The Washington and Lee men's golf team finished with a 310-306—616 to place in a tie for fifth out of 16 teams at the Callaway Gardens Intercollegiate on Sunday at the Mountain View Course.

Oglethorpe won the team title with a score of 294-293—587.  Methodist was second with a 293-299—592, while host Berry was third with a 304-303—607.  Emory finished just ahead of the Generals and Rhodes with a 302-310—612.

Individually, W&L was led by first-year Conley Hurst (Little Rock, Ark. / Episcopal), who finished tied for third out of 101 competitors with an even-par score of 69-75—144.  Oglethorpe's David Kleckner finished as the individual champion with a two-day score of 70-71—141 (-3).

W&L first-year Todd Alan McDonald (Little Rock, Ark. / Little Rock Christian) tied for 29th with an 81-74—155, while first-year Cody Solomon (Cody Solomon (Peachtree Corners, Ga. / Wesleyan School) posted an 81-77—158 to tie for 38th overall.

Junior Patrick Clossin (Ooltewah, Tenn. / McCallie School) carded a 79-80—159 to tie for 44th and sophomore Teddy Corcoran (Rochester, N.Y. / Brighton) notched an 82-85—167 to tie for 77th. 

Washington and Lee will return to action on March 10-11 at the Taylor Made/Adidas Intercollegiate held at the Cotton Dike Course in Dataw Island, S.C.
