
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Washington and Lee men's golf team carded a score of 308-315—623 to finish 10th out of 17 teams at the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial held at the Sedgefield Dye Course on Monday and Tuesday.
Greensboro finished as the team champion after posting a two-day score of 293-304—597. Guilford (302-306—608) finished second and Hampden-Sydney carded a 295-314—609 to place third.
Guilford's Nicholas Shedd claimed individual medalist honors after shooting a +1 score of 69-72—141.
W&L first-year Conley Hurst (Little Rock, Ark. / Episcopal) finished in a tie for 11th-place overall out of 96 golfers with a score of 75-75—150. Classmate Cody Solomon (Peachtree Corners, Ga. / Wesleyan School) placed in a tie for 22nd with a 77-76—153, while sophomore Teddy Corcoran (Rochester, N.Y. / Brighton) tied for 41st with a 77-81—158.
First-year Todd Alan McDonald (Little Rock, Ark. / Little Rock Christian) tied for 58th after carding 79-83—162 and junior Joey Manzinger (Baden, Pa. / Sewickley Academy) shot 83-87—170 to tie for 82nd.
Washington and Lee has now completed the fall portion of its schedule. The Generals will resume play on March 1-2 at the Callaway Gardens Intercollegiate held at the Mountain Course in Pine Mountain, Ga.
