Second Round of Pine Needles Intercollegiate is Cancelled

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – The second round of the Pine Needles Intercollegiate from the Pine Needles Resort on Tuesday has been cancelled due to unplayable conditions. First-year Teddy Corcoran (Rochester, N.Y. / Brighton) finished as the individual champion after shooing a -2 score of 69 on Monday.

The Generals finished with a 296 during Monday's round to place second overall, five strokes behind Guilford.  Cape Fear was third with a 299, followed by LaGrange (312), Hampden-Sydney (312), Randolph-Macon (314), Bridgewater (323), Wesley (330), Marymount (335) and Virginia Wesleyan (349).


Junior Jake Struebing (Amherst, N.Y. / Amherst Central) carded a +2 score of 73, while sophomore Patrick Clossin (Ooltewah, Tenn. / McCallie School) posted a 74.  Junior Mark Sowinski (Greensboro, N.C. / Bishop McGuinness) notched an 80 and first-year Festus Turlington (Clinton, N.C. / Clinton) recorded an 84.

Washington and Lee will return to action on March 11-12 as it competes in the Taylor Made Adidas Intercollegiate hosted by Ohio Wesleyan at the Cotton Dike Course in Dataw Island, S.C.
