W&L Golf Competes at the Roanoke Spring Invitational

ROANOKE, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's golf team carded an opening round score of 318 at the Roanoke College Spring Invitational held at the Roanoke Country Club on Saturday.

The Generals were led on the first day by senior Wilson Anthony (Fordyce, Ark./Episcopal), who shot an opening round score of 76. First-year Patrick Clossin (Ooltewah, Tenn./McCallie School) carded a 77, and junior Will Hatfield (Louisville, Ky./Kentucky Country Day) shot an 80.

Sophomore Jack Cottrill (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park) shot an 85 and classmate Mark Sowinski (Greensboro, N.C./Bishop McGuinness) finished with an 88.

Team scores and individual placings were unavailable.

Action continues on Sunday with the final round from the Roanoke Country Club.
