    Randolph-Macon ended the game on an 18-10 run en route to an 84-75 victory over the Washington and Lee men’s basketball team on Saturday at Crenshaw Gymnasium. The loss was the first in ODAC play for the Generals (10-5, 5-1 ODAC), while the Yellow Jackets (12-3, 6-0 ODAC) remained perfect in the conference.

  • Numerous W&L Students Earn Fall Term Scholar-Athlete Awards

    Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that a record 253 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed fall term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.50. The prior record for scholar-athletes in the fall or winter term was 242 set last fall.

    Senior forward Blayde Reich totaled 44 points and 19 rebounds to lead 25th-ranked York (Pa.) to a 118-110 overtime victory over the Washington and Lee men’s basketball team on Saturday in the championship of the W&L Holiday Tournament. Junior forward Roy McMillan (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton) led the Blue and White with a career-high 35 points, 10 rebounds, a career-high six steals and three blocks.
  • W&L Men's Basketball Overwhelms Clarks Summit, 105-78

    The Washington and Lee men’s basketball team outrebounded Clarks Summit, 58-26, en route to a 105-78 victory on Friday on day one of the W&L Holiday Tournament at the Warner Center. The 58 rebounds marked the most for the Blue and White since at least the year 2000.

    Junior guard Devin Kearns (Cibolo, Texas / Samuel Clemens) recorded his first career double-double with 19 points and 10 assists, and the Washington and Lee men’s basketball team went on a 30-4 run midway through the game on its way to a 96-57 victory over Southern Virginia on Tuesday at the Warner Center. The win also marked the first for W&L Head Coach Chris McHugh.

    Senior forward Clayton Murtha (Dallas, Texas/Highland Park) totaled 20 points and 14 rebounds, but Oglethorpe shot 50.0 percent (32-of-64) from the field en route to an 82-75 victory for the Stormy Petrels over the Washington and Lee men’s basketball team on Sunday at the Lon Varnell Classic hosted by Sewanee.

    Sewanee shot 55.7 percent (34-of-61) from the field and had three players register at least 20 points, as the Tigers defeated the Washington and Lee men’s basketball team, 96-79, on Saturday at Juhan Gymnsasium in the season-opener for W&L.
