  • Numerous W&L Students Earn Winter Scholar-Athlete Awards

    Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that 257 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed winter term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.500.

    The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced its 2017-18 College Division All-State Men’s Basketball Teams on Friday, and senior forward Clayton Murtha (Dallas, Texas/Highland Park) earned first team honors.

The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.50. The prior record for scholar-athletes in the fall or winter term was 242 set last fall.
