LEXINGTON, Va. — The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released its 2013-14 Capital One Division III Academic All-District Baseball squad on Thursday, and Washington and Lee senior center fielder Keegan Dolan (Bethesda, Md./Landon) was selected to the 10-member District 5 team as one of the three outfielders chosen.
A business administration major, Dolan led the ODAC with 11 home runs this season, and set a new W&L single-season record. The previous mark was nine done three times. He hit .369 (52-of-141) with 33 RBI, 32 runs, 10 steals, seven doubles and two triples.
Dolan had the fourth-highest slugging percentage (.681) in the league and had a .404 on-base percentage. He finished his career tied for third on W&L's all-time list in home runs (18) and was fourth in steals (32). This season, Dolan also registered the second-most total bases (96) in program history.
It marked his first time receiving the academic honor. Dolan will move onto the national ballot where he has a chance at earning Academic All-America honors.
The criteria for the Capital One Academic All-District program states that a player must be of sophomore academic standing, be a starter or important reserve and claim a GPA of at least a 3.30 on a 4.0 scale. Washington and Lee is a member of District 5, which includes players from Division III schools in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
The Generals finished the 2014 season 18-13 overall and 11-9 in the ODAC. The team recorded its best winning percentage (.581) since 2009.
