LEXINGTON, Va. — The Washington and Lee baseball team recently held its inaugural breast cancer awareness game on Saturday, March 23. Following the conclusion of the event, the total amount contributed by the Generals and given to the Susan G. Koman Passionately Pink for the Cure Foundation was over $3,500.
W&L raised the funds by accepting donations online, selling custom made t-shirts and collecting donations during the doubleheader. The athletics department and the baseball team would like to thank all the fans, students, faculty and staff, parents and alumni who contributed donations or came out to support the team.
The Generals swept Roanoke, 10-4 and 8-2, on the day of the fundraiser. The Blue and White are 15-11 overall and 8-5 in the ODAC. The team returns to action this Saturday, hosting Hampden-Sydney for a doubleheader at 12:00 pm.
