FOREST, Va. – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced its all-conference baseball squad on Saturday and Washington and Lee junior shortstop Jonathan Stutts (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Country Day) was among those honored.
Stutts was named to the first team, the lone General to garner All-ODAC laurels. A second team honoree a season ago, he started all 34 games as shortstop in 2012 and batted .402 with 11 doubles, three triples and five home runs, to go along with 25 runs batted in and 26 runs scored. His .500 on base percentage led the conference, while his .644 slugging percentage ranked fourth in the league.
Randolph-Macon senior first baseman Jordan Walton was named the ODAC Player of the Year, while Bridgewater senior Kevin Chandler was honored as the ODAC Pitcher of the Year. Emory & Henry's Trey McCall was tabbed as the Coach of the Year and Hampden-Sydney pitcher Zach Whitaker received the Rookie of the Year award. Sophomore catcher Zach Fitzpatrick of Lynchburg was selected as the ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Washington and Lee completed the 2012 campaign with a 15-19 overall record and an 8-10 mark in conference play.
