With his being named to the regional team, Serenbetz will now go on the ballot for the National Gold Glove Team. He is the second General to earn Gold Glove honors in the last three seasons as centerfielder Terrence McKelvey ’09 was so honored in 2008.
The Generals wrapped up the 2010 season with a 14-19 overall record and dropped an 8-3 contest Lynchburg in the ODAC Semifinals.
W&L's Serenbetz Named To Rawlings Gold Glove Team
LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee senior first baseman Hunter Serenbetz (Stamford, Conn./Taft) has been named to the South Region Rawlings Gold Glove Team as announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).
Serenbetz, who started all 33 games for the Generals at first
base this season, did not make an error in 295 chances and he was
involved in 35 double plays as W&L ranked 22nd
nationally in double plays per game. At the plate, the switch
hitter led W&L with 30 RBIs and three home runs while hitting
.256.
