SALEM, Va. -- Washington and Lee senior second baseman John Ditore (Seattle, Wash./Bishop Blanchet) was honored as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference’s baseball player of the week as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Ditore helped lead W&L to a 2-1 record in three games last week as he hit .643 (9-14) and scored seven runs. He also hit a pair of doubles, drove in two runs and stole one base.
The Generals defeated Southern Virginia, 12-3, on Wednesday, as Ditore was 4-for-5 with a double and four runs scored. He then batted 5-for-9 with three runs scored in a doubleheader split with Lynchburg on Saturday. Ditore currently leads W&L (2-5) in hitting (.484), doubles (4) and runs (12).
W&L returns to action on Tuesday as it travels to Eastern Mennonite for a 3:00 pm contest.
