The Generals' women finished 15-4 overall and had a perfect 8-0 mark in the ODAC in 2007. W&L tied a league record with its ninth-overall ODAC title and made an NCAA apperance for the eighth time.
The W&L women return six starters from last season. All-America senior defender Kat Michaels (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Academy) highlights the returnees for W&L. Michaels, senior midfielder Megan Slosson (Cockeysville, Md./Maryvale Prep), senior goalkeeper Sarah Tilbor (West Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) and junior attacker Kelsi Robinson (West Chester, Pa./Westtown) were all second-team all-region selections, while Michaels and Robinson were both tabbed to the All-ODAC First Team and Slosson and Tilbor were second-team all-conference picks.
The Washington and Lee men also return six starters from last season's team that finished 9-6 overall and 4-2 in the ODAC. Of the Generals six losses, four were by two goals or less to nationally-ranked opponents. Headlining the returning starters are junior midfielder Harry St. John (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) and junior attacker Tim Skeen (Baltimore, Md./Towson), who were both All-ODAC Second-Team selections in 2007.
W&L women begin the 2008 season Tuesday on the road against Sewanee, while the men travel to Jacksonville, Fla., to take on Savannah A&D Thursday.
