LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee's two men's basketball games this week are scheduled to be broadcast on television and over the internet.
The Generals' game with Emory & Henry on Wednesday evening (7:00 pm) will be aired tape-delayed at 10:00 pm on WDRL-TV in Roanoke. WDRL can be found on Comcast Cable locally as channel 14.
W&L's game against Lynchburg College on Sunday afternoon (2:00 pm) is slated to be video webcast by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. Penn Atlantic Inc., will provide the ODAC with its service to stream audio and video across the Internet. All scheduled ODAC events can be accessed from Penn Atlantic’s game schedule at http://www.pennatlantic.com as the play date approaches. There will be a small charge of $3.50 to view each game.
In order to view the broadcasts, you will have to be using a cable or DSL highâspeed Internet connection (preferably above 600 kbps download speed). You can test your speed (bandwidth) directly from the Penn Atlantic website. The feed will not work with a dialâup set up. You will also need Windows Media Player 9.0 or 10.0.
For AOL users, you will not be able to access the Penn Atlantic website via the AOL browser (due to firewall). If you use Internet Explorer instead (installed on every Windowsâbased PC), you will have no problems viewing the game.
Macintosh users should view the “FAQ” section of the Penn Atlantic website to learn about how you can view the game. Scroll down near the bottom of that section to the “Can I watch a game on my Macintosh?” question to learn how to view the game.
Washington and Lee is 12-8 overall and 8-5 in the ODAC. The Generals have already won their most games for a season since 1990-91 and can clinch their first non-losing season since 1989-90 with one more victory.
