W&L Men's Lacrosse Ranked 14th by Faceoff Yearbook

BALTIMORE, Md. -- Inside Lacrosse has released its Faceoff Yearbook Preseason Division III men’s lacrosse poll and Preseason Division III All-Americans.

Washington and Lee ranks 14th in the preseason coaches poll, while junior midfielder Harry St. John (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) was listed among the Preseason Honorable Mention All-Americans as honorable mention selections.

The Generals were joined in the poll by fellow ODAC schools Lynchburg (3rd), Roanoke (5th) and Hampden-Sydney (16th). Salisbury tops the rankings, with Cortland, Lynchburg, Gettysburg, Roanoke, Wesleyan, Tufts, Ithaca, Western New England and St. Lawrence filling out the Top 10.

St. John was tabbed to the magazine's Honorable Mention All-America team for the second-straight season after garnering Second Team All-ODAC laurels last spring. The two-time All-ODAC selection led the team in scoring in 2007, tallying 32 points on 22 goals and 10 assists. Through two seasons, St. John has totaled 64 career points on 46 goals and 18 assists.

Washington and Lee returns six starters from last season's team that finished 9-6 overall and 4-2 in the ODAC. Of the Generals six losses, four were by two goals or less to nationally-ranked opponents.
