Korte Selected to NFHCA All-Star Team

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee senior midfielder Kendall Korte (Virginia Beach, Va./Cox) has been selected to play in the 2007 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III All-Star game to be held at 9:30 am on Sat., Nov. 17 at Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pa.

Korte joins Rebecca Hatchett '07 as the second General to be chosen to play in the all-star game. Korte will be joined by fellow Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) player Samantha Howard of Lynchburg.

A two-time First Team All-ODAC and First Team VaSID All-State pick, Korte has started all 17 games this season and leads the team in assists with five and is second on the team with seven goals, adding one defensive save. The 2006 ODAC Player of the Year, she was also named to the All-ODAC tournament team in 2005 and garnered first-team NFHCA All-South Region honors in 2006.

The Generals are currently 11-6 overall and are competing in the ODAC tournament. The Blue and White defeated Bridgewater, 7-0, on Saturday in the first round and will take on second-seeded Lynchburg College in the semifinals on Wednesday at 6:00 in Lynchburg, Va.
