W&L's Strachan Named ODAC Swimmer of the Week

SALEM, Va. -- Junior Lindsey Strachan (Midlothian, Va./Governor's School) was named ODAC Swimmer of the Week for the week ending January 13.

Strachan helped W&L to a 1-1 record over the weekend with a win over Marymount, 184.5-70.50, and a loss to Division II Wingate, 160-101.

Strachan took gold in the 100 back with a time of 1:02.03 and finished first in the 200 back in a time of 2:12.63. Her finish in the 200 back is the best time in the ODAC thus far this season, and she already owns the conference's best marks in the 50 back (28.78) and the 100 back (1:01.70).

Strachan also led off the second-place finishing 200 medley relay (29.01 split/ 1:55.01) and finished second in the 500 free (5:26.44).

The Generals (7-5, 2-0 ODAC) return to action on Friday when they take on 2007 ODAC Champion Randolph-Macon in Ashland, Va., at 7:30 pm.
