W&L'S MICHAELS NAMED TO ANOTHER ALL-AMERICA TEAM

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Junior defender Kat Michaels (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Academy) has been selected to the womenslacrosse.com Division III All-America team as a third-team selection.

Michaels, who also earned Third Team All-America laurels from the IWLCA, was a First Team All-ODAC and First Team All-Region selection for the 2007 season. She spearheaded a W&L defense that ranked first in Division III in scoring defense (4.86 GAA) and caused an average of 24.8 turnovers per game. Individually, she ranked 22nd in Division III in caused turnovers (2.39) and she tallied 37 ground balls and a pair of assists.

W&L concluded the season with a 15-4 overall record and an 8-0 ODAC mark as it won its fifth-straight ODAC Championship. The 20th-ranked Generals also made their fifth-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament and defeated Wooster, 14-4, before falling to eventual national runner-up Salisbury, 10-7, in the second round.
