SEVEN W&L MEN'S SWIMMERS HEADING TO NCAA'S
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced Friday its invitees to the 2007 NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships held in Houston, Texas from March 15-17. The Washington and Lee men's swim team had seven swimmers select to swim at the championship weekend.
Seniors Dave Croushore (Glen Allen, Va./North Penn), Mike Ginder (Jacksonville, Fla./Episcopal) and Kevin Hayes (Mercer Island, Wash./Mercer Island), juniors Tim McGlaston (Attleboro, Mass./Attleboro) and Alex Sweet (Louisville, Ky./Kentucky Country Day) and sophomores Paul Crook (Nashville, Tenn./Montgomery Bell) and Brett Tatman (Marietta, Ga./George Walton) will represent W&L at the championships.
The team of Crook, Tatman, Sweet and Ginder enter the meet as the second seed in the 800 free relay, while the team of McGlaston, Croushore, Ginder and Sweet are seeded fourth in both the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay. The same quartet is also tabbed 16th in the 400 medley relay. Additionally, Ginder, Hayes, Croushore and McGlaston are slated to compete in the 200 medley relay, where they are the fifth seed.
Individually, Ginder (4th seed), Crook (13th seed), Tatman (33rd seed), Sweet (40th seed) and McGlaston (47th seed) will compete in the 200 free. Ginder is also the second seed in the 200 back, while Crook is the ninth seed in the 500 free, the 25th seed in the 50 free and the 38th seed in the 100 free. McGlaston will also compete in the 50 free (4th seed) and the 100 free (35th seed), while Sweet will join his teammates in the 100 free (4th seed) and the 50 free (25th seed). Hayes rounds out the Generals' individual competitors, taking part in the 400 IM (31st seed) and the 200 breast (25th seed).
