W&L WOMEN'S LAX WINS TWO NCAA STATISTICAL CATEGORIES
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team capped its record-breaking 2005 season by winning a pair of NCAA Statistical Championships.
The Generals finished No. 1 in Division III in both scoring defense (5.41 gpg.) and ground balls (40.76 gbpg.), the first time in program history that W&L has claimed a statistical championship. W&L also placed eighth in winning percentage (.824) and ninth in scoring margin (6.71 gpg.).
Washington and Lee finished the 2005 campaign with a 15-4 overall record. The Generals also posted a perfect 8-0 conference record en route to winning the ODAC Tournament Championship, and advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the first time in program history.
