BALTIMORE, Md. -- Washington and Lee senior attacker Amanda Strickler (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) has been named to the Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-America Women's Lacrosse Team.

Strickler is a second team selection and the only General named to the Preseason All-America team.

Last season, Strickler led W&L in scoring with 51 points on 25 goals and a team-best 26 assists en route to earning First Team All-ODAC and Second Team All-South Atlantic Region honors. Her 26 assists tied for the fifth-most in a single season in school history. Strickler enters her senior season with 103 career points on 58 goals and 45 assists.

The Generals return 18 letterwinners and seven starters from last year's 15-4 overall (8-0 ODAC) squad. W&L also claimed its third consecutive ODAC Championship and won its first-ever NCAA Tournament game with an 11-9 win over Amherst before falling to eventual NCAA runner-up Salisbury in the quarterfinals.

The 11th-ranked Generals open their 2006 season on Saturday at No. 14 St. Mary's (Md.) at 3:00 pm.
