SALEM, Va. -- Washington and Lee swept the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Basketball Player of the Week Awards as junior forward Jessica Hunsinger (Mayer, Ariz./Orme School) was named the women's player of the week and sophomore forward Greg Bienemann (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) was named the men's player of the week.

Hunsinger led the Generals to a 2-0 week with victories over Eastern Mennonite (65-40) and Guilford (73-53). In those games, she averaged 21.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 5.5 blocks and 1.5 assists per contest, while shooting 51.4 percent from the floor. Hunsinger tallied 19 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks against EMU and 23 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks against Guilford. She now has six double-doubles in eight games and leads the team in scoring (16.9 ppg), rebounding (11.6 rpg) and blocks (3.5 bpg).

Bienemann led the W&L men to a 98-92 victory over Guilford in his only game last week. In that game, he scored a career-high 33 points, six rebounds, two blocks, one assist and one steal. He shot 12-of-16 from the floor and 8-of-10 from the foul line in posting the most points by a W&L player since the 2001-02 season. For the year, Bienemann averages a team-best 13.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He is also shooting a team-leading 60.8 percent from the floor.

The W&L women are 3-5 overall, 2-3 in the ODAC, and return to action on Jan. 3 at Virginia Wesleyan. The W&L men are 1-8 overall and 1-3 in the ODAC and will return to the court on Jan. 7 as they host Roanoke College.
