LEXINGTON, Va. -- Freshman Lindsey Strachan (Midlothian, Va./Maggie Walker Governor's) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Swimmer of the Week for the week ending Jan. 30. The selection marked the second time this season that Strachan has won the award.
Strachan had two first place and one second place finish in a 156-103 loss to 10th-ranked Johns Hopkins on Saturday. She captured the 100-yard (1:02.65) and 200-yard (2:12.49) backstroke events, while placing second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:34.08.
This year, Strachan has swum W&L's fastest times in the 100-yard (1:01.75) and 200-yard (2:12.11) backstroke events, and in the 500-yard freestyle (5:30.79).
Washington and Lee concluded the regular season with a 10-5 overall record and a perfect 6-0 mark in the ODAC. The Generals will be gunning for their 13th consecutive ODAC Championship from Fri., Feb. 17 to Sun., Feb. 19.
