PETER DEAN SELECTED TO ALL-REGION TEAM

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Washington and Lee senior left hander Peter Dean (Vienna, Va./James Madison) was selected to the 2004 American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-South Region team.

Dean earned his second straight first team appointment after earning ODAC Pitcher of the Year accolades. He pitched a season-record 88.2 innings for 64 strikeouts, a 2.33 ERA, a school-record three shutouts and a school-record for victories in a season (9-2). In addition, he set the ODAC mark for career wins with a 29-7 career record, the school record for career strikeouts (232) and the school record for career ERA (2.20).

The Generals compiled a 21-16 overall record, an 11-7 mark in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and a runner-up position in the ODAC Tournament.
