TWO W&L WOMEN'S LAXERS NAMED TO NORTH-SOUTH ALL-STAR ROSTER
LEXINGTON, Va. -- Senior attackers Kelly Taffe (Charlottesville,
Va./Albemarle) and Lee Wheeler (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr) were
named to the 2004 STX Farewell Lacrosse Festival Division III
North-South Senior All-Star game.
The game will be played on Sat., June 5, at the University of
Maryland - Baltimore County at 11:00 a.m.
Taffe, a 2004 First-Team All-ODAC selection, finished her career
with a school-record 238 points after combining a school-best 182
goals with 56 assists. This season she led the Generals with 70
points on 14 assists and a team-high 56 goals.
Wheeler earned Second-Team All-ODAC honors this season after
ranking second in the team with 52 points on 34 goals and a
team-high 18 assists. She finished her career third on the W&L
all-time list with 134 goals and fourth with 187 points.
Washington and Lee finished its season with a 15-4 mark overall, a
7-1 record in the ODAC and its second-straight ODAC Championship.
The Generals also earned their second-straight berth into the NCAA
Tournament before falling to Gettysburg in the first round, 13-8,
on May 8.
