THREE W&L GOLFERS GARNER ALL-ODAC HONORS

SALEM, Va. -- Washington and Lee claimed three members on the All-ODAC golf team which was announced on Tuesday afternoon. Freshman Ted Williams (Vero Beach, Fla./St. Edwards School) was named to the first team all-conference squad, while junior Ged Johnson (Darien, Conn./Taft School) and freshman Matt Nickles (Columbia, S.C./A.C. Flora) were tabbed to the second team.

Williams led the Generals with a 76.1 stroke average over 19 rounds played. He led all W&L golfers in five of the team's nine tournaments throughout the year and finished tied for 13th overall at the ODAC Championships.

Johnson, earned second team accolades after garnering first team recognition a season ago. He averaged 77.3 strokes over 18 rounds played and led the Generals in two of the team's nine events.

Nickles finished third on the team in stroke average with 77.8 strokes over 16 rounds played. He led the team in three of nine tournaments throughout the season.

Washington and Lee finished second at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships behind perennial Division III power Guilford College.
