W&L WOMEN'S SOCCER RANKED SIXTH NATIONALLY
LEXINGTON, Va. -- Following it's 2-1 victory over seventh-ranked
Virginia Wesleyan in the ODAC Championship match, the Washington
and Lee women's soccer team has been ranked No. 6 in the November
10 edition of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America
(NSCAA) Division III poll.
The sixth-position marks W&L's highest-ever national ranking,
surpassing the Generals' previous high of 12th, set on October
13.
Washington and Lee, which is also ranked first in the NCAA South
Region, earned the ODAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship
Tournament, and is set to host the South Regional on Saturday.
The top-seeded Generals are currently 15-1-2 on the season and
will face fourth-seeded Greensboro (14-3-2) at 11:00 a.m.
Second-seeded Virginia Wesleyan (18-2-2) will square off against
third-seeded Hardin-Simmons (16-3-0) at 1:30 p.m.
