LEXINGTON, Va. -- Eight members of the record-setting Washington and Lee women's soccer team earned spots on the All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) team which was announced Wednesday morning. Additionally, Head Coach Neil Cunningham was honored as the ODAC Coach of the Year, while freshman midfielder Gina Von Sternberg (Houston, Texas/Episcopal) was selected as the Rookie of the Year.

Sophomore midfielder Romney Willson (Roanoke, Va./Patrick Henry) was the lone W&L player to garner First Team All-ODAC honors. Sophomore forwards Maggie Hope (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Country Day) and Molly Plummer (New Orleans, La./Sacred Heart), Von Sternberg, junior defender Meghan Hayde (Massapequa, N.Y./St. Anthony's) and sophomore defender Kelley Zagol (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) each were selected as second team performers. Senior midfielder Jenny Thomas (High Point, N.C./Central) and sophomore goaltender Emily Barker (Clifton, Va./Mount Vernon) were honorable mention selections.

Willson totaled seven points on three goals and one assist. Defensively, she played a role in W&L's goals-against average of 0.65.

Hope and Plummer were the two leading scorers for W&L. Hope tallied 30 points (11 goals, team-high eight assists), while Plummer registered 32 points (team-leading 13 goals, six assists). Von Sternberg chipped in with 26 points on 10 goals and six assists, and Thomas tallied 23 points (eight goals, seven assists) and a team-high four game-winning goals.

In the defensive backfield, Hayde and Zagol combined to hold the Generals' opponents to an average of 0.65 goals per game. A year ago, Hayde was a First Team selection, while Zagol garnered Honorable Mention honors. In net, Barker recorded 60 saves for a .845 save percentage while allowing a 0.62 GAA and recording six shutouts.

In his second season as head coach of the women's program, Cunningham led the Generals (17-2-3) to a school-record number of wins, a 20-game unbeaten streak, their first ODAC Championship and first berth in the NCAA Tournament.
