MURPHY EARNS ALL-SOUTH REGION HONORS

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Sophomore midfielder Kitt Murphy (Richmond, Va./St. Catherines) was recognized on the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-South Region team announced Monday morning. Murphy garnered Second Team honors.

Murphy is the first W&L field hockey player ever to receive all-region accolades.

This season, Murphy was honored as a First-Team All-ODAC selection after leading the Generals in scoring with 18 points on five goals and a team-high eight assists. Last year, she garnered Honorable Mention All-ODAC honors.

In its second season playing a full varsity schedule, Washington and Lee advanced to the ODAC Semifinals after compiling a 10-9 mark overall, 6-3 ODAC.
